Five design awards and competitions closing until the end of March

Product design awards and competitions divide opinions. Some think they are overrated, others think design awards are the best allocation of their marketing and PR money, others think it helps to sell a lot and others call it a rip-off.

Despite the opinions, the good thing about product design competitions is the levelling of the playing field between big companies, small design firms, and students.

Some of the most important competitions like iF Design Award and Redot are already closed, but there are some awards and competitions that are still open.

Here is a list of five design awards which applications close until the end of March.

The Product Design of the Year Award recognizes the efforts of talented designers and design teams who aim to improve our daily lives with a practical and beautiful creations, designed to solve a problem, make life easier or simply spread joy.

CORE 77 DESIGN AWARDS

Closing March 7

Recognizing excellence in all areas of design enterprise, the Core77 Design Awards celebrates the richness of the design profession and its practitioners. We present 14 categories of entry, providing designers and researchers a unique opportunity to communicate the intent, rigor and passion behind their efforts. INTERNATIONAL DESIGN EXCELLENCE AWARDS

The International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) is one of the longest running and most prestigious design awards programs in existence. Originally founded to recognize exceptional achievement in industrial design, the program has since grown to highlight design in many forms including design strategy, branding, digital interaction and so much more.

GOOD DESIGN AWARDS

Closing March 28

Australia’s annual Good Design Awards program is one of the oldest and most prestigious international design awards in the world, promoting excellence in design and innovation since 1958. It is recognised by the World Design Organization (WDO) as Australia’s peak international design endorsement program. It represents the diverse spectrum of design with 10 specific Design Disciplines, spanning 28 Categories.
